Hello, I am Iona
Nice to meet you! I am a Dutch pyrography artist and creative woodworker. I studied woodworking and cabinetmaking in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and discovered the art of wood burning – also known as pyrography – by accident when playing around with a soldering iron on an old piece of furniture.

Sustainability is important to me
The wood I use for my pendants comes from sustainable and respectful sources. Much of it is gifted by friends and family who trim trees and bushes in their yards or comes from our own sustainable forest. When strong winds or heavy snow damage the trees, we clear some of them to use while leaving others to nurture the forest’s ecosystem, supporting its fauna and flora.
I also enjoy rescuing wooden items from thrift stores, giving these materials a second life through my art. I believe in honoring nature and repurposing resources.
I would never cut down trees or harm the environment just to make art. My art is about celebrating nature, not taking from it.
