Hi, I am Iona

Nice to meet you! I am a Dutch pyrography artist and creative woodworker. I studied woodworking and cabinetmaking in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and discovered the art of wood burning – also known as pyrography – by accident when playing around with a soldering iron on an old piece of furniture.

Pyrography quickly became a serious hobby, perfectly in line with my love for wood. I put all my creativity into my own designs, but I also dedicate myself to visualizing, designing and executing anything you would request. I offer one of a kind wood-burnings, as well as quality customized work to suit your every wish.

Although I am originally from The Netherlands, I moved to Finland in 2006. In August of 2021, my husband and I bought a wonderful, 100-year-old log cottage in Lauteala, South Savo that comes with its own little forest!

Besides woodworking and pyrography, I enjoy nature photography, writing, drawing in graphite and ink, and reading fiction. I regularly post my nature pictures on my Facebook page and Instagram.
