Carved from African Blackwood: Shadow piercer is crafted from African Blackwood, one of the most prized and luxurious woods in the world. While African Blackwood isn’t native to the Finnish forests that usually inspire my work, I was fortunate to acquire a few small pieces. Its deep, natural black hue and fine grain make it the perfect choice for dark pendants.
Shadow piercer’s surface is carved to mimic the raw, flaked texture of knapped stone, evoking the craftsmanship of ancient warriors who shaped their weapons from flint. This piece bridges past and present, embodying both primal power and timeless artistry.
Size: This arrowhead pendant measures approximately 3.5 x 2.5 cm (1 3/8″ x 1″), making it an elegant yet striking accessory, suitable for men as well!
Finish: Shadow piercer is finished with pure Tung oil, enhancing the natural black richness of the wood while leaving a smooth, matte surface. Tung oil is non-toxic, and no stains or dyes were used—the color is entirely the wood’s own.
Necklace: The arrowhead pendant is paired with a thin black leather necklace. It had an adjustable length of 52-56 cm (20-22″) and a lobster clasp closure, complementing the pendant’s dark, mysterious aesthetic.
