Essence of the Raven |
With The Raven’s Call I set out to capture the essence of the Raven; fascinated creatures that grace also my forests here in Eastern-Finland. As an artist, their presence gave me a source of inspiration, so much so that I’ve felt drawn to turn the Echoes in the Night into a series! (“The Wolf’s Watch” was my first larger creation; “The Raven’s Call” is my second)
At the heart of this piece, a majestic Raven observes the starry, moonlit sky. Below, Ravens soar through the misty veil of a forest like ethereal messengers, echoing the ancient whispers of the night. The smaller Raven on a tree stump keeps a watchful eye over its domain. It’s a sentinel, a guardian of the forest’s secrets.
The original design is burned by hand, on Aspen wood, and took me more than 70 hours to create. It embodies not just my artistic vision, but also my profound connection to the natural world that surrounds me. I’ve poured my soul into this artwork, and I hope that shows!
